Dormi Arts Initiative is a Uganda-based social enterprise that uses art and creativity to address social, economic, and sustainability challenges. We collaborate with artists, artisans, creatives, and professionals to design solutions that create real impact while strengthening the creative industry.

We are building a committed volunteer community to help us implement our mission. Our volunteer program is structured, skills-based, and growth-oriented — designed for people who want to contribute meaningfully while developing professionally.

Who Can Volunteer?

We welcome individuals from diverse backgrounds who are passionate about creativity, impact, and learning.

Ideal Volunteers Include:

  • Artists and creatives (visual artists, designers, illustrators, etc.)
  • Artisans and skilled makers
  • Students and recent graduates
  • Administrators, project managers, researchers
  • Communications, marketing, and media professionals
  • Finance, records, and operations support professionals

You do not need to be an artist to volunteer — many of our roles are administrative and operational.

Time Commitment

  • Minimum commitment: 5–10 hours per week (flexible depending on role)
  • Some roles may require physical presence; others can be remote
  • Clear schedules and expectations are agreed upon during onboarding

Support & Allowances

While Dormi Arts is a growing organization, we strive to support our volunteers responsibly.

Allowances may be provided when:

  • A volunteer is engaged in fieldwork or project execution
  • Transport or meals are required for official duties
  • The role demands sustained time commitment

All allowances are role-based and subject to availability of funds.
